I Gave a Gift Today and It Made Me Smile
Last week I got inspired and decided to order some silicone bracelets from my favorite cause, which is Lance Armstrong’s LiveStrong foundation. They came yesterday, and I gave a gift today (bracelet) to my neighbor. She’s a cancer survivor, and I thought she would be inspired to wear that gift as a symbol of her fight against the deadly disease. Then after I gave a gift today (bracelet), I decided to wrap each one that I got in Christmas wrapping paper, and give everyone I plan to gift this year a silicone bracelet from LiveStrong. It’s such a great cause, and after I read Lance Armstrong’s first two books, he became one of my heroes.
Although these silicone bracelets have been around long before Armstrong decided to use them to symbolize his foundation, it took his efforts and Nike’s to make them a popular way to promote causes. I often see people wearing them, and now that I’ve got one myself, I plan to look at more websites that offer the custom wristbands and order the ones that support organizations or values that I do, too. It’s so nice to be able to say, “I gave a gift today (bracelet)” and know that in doing so, I supported a cause, and am spreading my beliefs about helping the planet and its people by simply wearing a silicone bracelet.
The bracelets are easy to order online, and shipping is nominal because the wristbands weigh practically nothing. If you’re looking for a way to say, “I gave a gift today (bracelet)” with a smile because you did something good for your favorite cause, look into buying the wristbands and giving them away to your friends and family. It will probably make you feel good after doing something beneficial for the good of mankind.
